]]>The Acchiappasogni collection takes the dreamcatchers of native American culture as its inspiration. First found amongst the Ojibwe people of Canada and northern parts of the US, dreamcatchers are said to have originated with the story of Asibaikaashi - 'The Spider Woman'.
Asibaikaashi is the guardian spirit of tribe members, especially infants, and the women of the tribe invoke her powers of protection for their families by making dreamcatchers to hang around the home and above beds.
The design is not purely decorative but each component brings a particular quality to the overall purpose. The central round shape represents the earth and the circle of life, it is here that negative energies and bad dreams are caught, whilst the beads or feathers which hang from the circle act as slides, down which positive energy and good dreams descend onto the person or persons below.
In Acchiappasogni's bejewelled design the form the dreamcatchers elegant form is sculpted from everlasting 18ct white gold while the beads are immortalised by bright, clear rubies.
These rubies have been hand-selected by Biagio for their quality, but also with their spiritual energies in mind.
Ruby represent nobility, purity and passion. It is a protective stone, just as the dreamcatcher is a protective talisman, that brings happiness and passion to the wearer, shielded them from negative energies and promoting self-worth.
Thus, the dreamcatcher's mythical abilities are enhanced by the rubies own qualities and diamonds set around the circle bring a brilliance representative of the sun, which burns away the negative energies caught inside the circle.
Just imagine being the wearer of this striking set....
Make it yours.

]]>Art Deco, ‘the birth of design style in the modern age’, shines through with this brilliant and sophisticated setting. Following the true elements of this era, Raffinatezza embodies the graceful streamlined forms, geometric shapes and intelligent use of colour that lent consummate glamour and exuberance to The Jazz Age.
Each element has been chosen for their alluring combination, together creating a piece which is both spectacularly luxurious and aesthetically refined. It’s this which the name reflects (Raffinatezza meaning refinement).
Handcrafted white gold with well-proportioned clean lines, this unique piece embraces the central emerald-cut blue zircon, flanked either side by purposeful, bold baguette-cut diamonds, each with a voice of their own, giving the uncommon blue zircon strength.
Having been panned from gravel streams for over 2000 years, clear zircons are often used in place of diamonds due to the range of optical and physical properties, zircon has stormed into popularity since the 1920’s, being sought after as a main feature stone rather than a complementary addition to a design.
Zircon can be found within an array of different types of rock and is, therefore, mined today in an array of different hues and colours, the most common being yellow, brown and red. They can also be found in green, reddish brown. Colourless examples are well-known for what is called ‘fire’, a brilliance with flashes of multicoloured light, which is partly why it is often used in place of a diamond.
To enhance all these properties, Biagio’s master craftsman based in Hatton Garden, carefully sculpt the white gold into a setting which displays all the hidden facets of the emerald cut Blue Zircon.
The emerald-cut was developed to enhance the beauty of emeralds, thus the name, but is now used on many other gemstones. The cut consists primarily of step-cut facets usually parallel to the girdle of the stone and the higher the precision of cutting, the better each step cut will meet the next. It may be argued that the best emerald-cut is mathematically organised and symmetrical on each surface to each face of the stone.
As can be seen in Art Deco design, this setting builds on bold, smooth geometric shapes by using the baguette-cut diamonds to anchor the main zircon setting. The baguette-cut is also made up of step-cut facets and is mostly seen in the form of a rectangular shape with parallel facets arranged in a terraced formation.
Each extraordinary one-off-design is individually crafted and can be set with precious stones to match your personality and flair. If the Art Deco movement triggered the birth of design in the modern age, then Raffinatezza is sure to awaken the inner sophistication of your soul with its on-point form exuding confidence.
Make Raffinatezza the perfect statement of your refinement. Each extraordinary one-off-design in The Artistry Collection is individually crafted and set with hand-selected precious stones. Once you make a piece of Artistry your own you can be sure that it is completely unique and that a piece will never be made quite the same again.
Fallen in love with a piece of Artistry only to find it’s sold? Whilst no individual design will ever be recreated exactly, Biagio will design something specially for you in a similar style, which sets your story in stone. Get in touch and tell us your story.
]]>‘A Night at the Museum’ was held after-hours in the world-famous Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and after being greeted with glasses of fizz and welcomed by brilliant Muddy Stilettos editor-in-chief and founder, Hero Brown, guests were whisked away on private tours of selected galleries with the museum’s experts. Following the tours, guests were treated to a truly memorable talk from the Curator of Sculpture & Decorative Arts, Matthew Winterbottom, on the luxury goods trade through time. Matthew gave guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to peek inside the 17th century Ebony Cabinet, which he opened to reveal, not just its unexpectedly stunning interior, but the breathtaking Cuore Orabella ametrine pendant from The Artistry Collection.
Inspired by Renaissance Italy, the Art Deco movement of the early 20th century and the places of his heritage, Venice and the island of Ischia, The Artistry Collection is a couture collection of one-off fine jewellery designs.
Each design in the collection begins with the stone as the star, the focus of the evolving work of art. Just as an artist begins to paint his muse. Every gemstone is hand-selected for its exceptional individual qualities of vibrance, colour or clarity and each is meticulously sought from trusted, responsible sources. The uniqueness of each stone informs the originality of each design, encompassing bold and dramatic statement pieces as well as delicate, elegant and highly wearable pieces.
Highlights of the collection include the Rinascimento Rosa suite, which takes the clean lines and trefoiled forms of the parterres of Renaissance gardens as its founding point, and leading on from the original Rinascimento suite, arranges its delicate diamonds within a rose gold setting, evoking the pure white roses of an Elizabethan knot garden.
Also popular on the night was the Sirena suite of underwater inspired jewels. Featuring stylised shells of Venus, azure blue gemstones and diamond encrusted settings, Sirena is named after those captivating mermaids, whose song lures ocean voyagers inescapably.
